From Orchardleigh there is a large choice of gourmet pubs with their open log fires and delicious food within a 5 mile radius and the closest being a mere 20 minute walk away! Stowell is surrounded by rolling hills and open farmland and offers wonderful walking country with a wide choice of public and bridle paths, fabulous rolling hills, breathtaking views and a choice of walks from our front door! Situated close to the village of Charlton Horethorne with its 17th century church and excellent village store, not forgetting the famous gourmet pub and hotel, The Kings Arms (a most pleasant 20 minute walk away) and the Queens Head at Corton Denham.
guests are welcomed to Orchardleigh by Kerry and her miniature poodle. The lovely spacious, homely kitchen is the hub of Orchardleigh and is warmed by an enormous Aga where you will be offered tea or freshly brewed coffee and home made cake. Breakfast is also served in the kitchen at her large French farmhouse table and a choice of local bacon, sausage and fresh eggs are on offer together with local Dorset cereal, yoghurts, fruit, bread and delicious home made jams and marmalade.
As a previous owner of a known London interior/antique shop, Kerry’s tasteful style and her passion for decorating are evident throughout this beautiful yet most comfortable home.
whether it be a riding or walking holiday, visiting one of Dorset's many National Trust Gardens or day trips to the historical and beautiful market town of Sherborne (approx. 5 miles away) with its Castle or beautiful Abbey built 705AD. The breathtaking World Heritage Site of the Jurassic Coast and home to Thomas Hardy, is a scenic hours' drive away. Further afield from Orchardleigh but easily accessible within a days trip are the cities of Bath and Wells. There is something for everyone and so much to explore.
